to speak of solitude// NOV 2022
Project type
Dance Performance
Date
November 2022
Location
UW-Milwaukee Mitchell Hall
“to speak of solitude” uses newspapers as living archives, objects that hold collective memory, fleeting narratives, and constantly shifting truths. The work examines precarity, saturation, and the instability of information, asking how bodies negotiate weight, noise, fragility, and collapse in real time. Newspapers become collaborators: rustling, tearing, tethering, and accumulating. Through this material, the choreography explores how personal and cultural histories are carried, rewritten, or discarded, making the dance a meditation on vulnerability, attention, and the fragility of knowledge.
